Postbaccalaureate Diploma in Enterprise IT Management
Enterprise systems have a significant impact on the competitiveness of today’s technology intensive organizations and demand for employees with enterprise systems skills is very strong.
An enterprise system is a single large-scale technology solution that supports the key business processes, information flows, and data reporting of an entire organization. In addition to meeting the most basic information needs of organizations, enterprise systems also help to improve competitiveness through the inclusion of business intelligence, knowledge management, customer relationship management, supply chain management, and product life cycle management capabilities. Developing and managing enterprise systems solutions not only require detailed technical knowledge, but also an understanding of business process redesign, project management, and change management.
Starting in September 2020, the Postbaccalaureate Diploma in Enterprise IT Management at St. Francis Xavier University is a new 2-year diploma program focused on designing, deploying and managing enterprise systems solutions in organizations. The diploma program will utilize the latest and most popular enterprise systems solutions and tools, including SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Lumira.
Upon graduation, students will possess the knowledge and skills to become an entry-level enterprise systems consultant, IT consultant, or systems analyst.
The Postbaccalaureate Diploma in Enterprise IT Management offers a strong foundation in enterprise systems theory, best practices, and plenty of hands-on skills development. Students will be introduced to the limitations of functional information systems, how enterprise systems address such limitations, how to assess and derive value from data and enterprise systems, how to design, implement, and manage enterprise systems, and how to link enterprise systems to corporate and IT strategies. Students will apply such knowledge through a simulated enterprise systems implementation project.
Students will take courses in a variety of technology areas, such as systems analysis and design, enterprise systems configuration, ABAP, mobile commerce, project management, business intelligence and analytics, change management, and enterprise systems strategy. Throughout the program, students will receive hands-on experience with the enterprise systems software solution from SAP SE. SAP SE is the world’s largest provider of enterprise systems software. SAP SE’s products are used in many of the Fortune Global 500 and medium-sized organizations.
