About Schwartz Students
Located in beautiful Antigonish, Nova Scotia, St. Francis Xavier University (STFX) is widely recognized as one of the top post-secondary institutions in Canada. StFX offers what many of Canada’s top students want: a high-quality education in a vibrant residential setting, exceptional hands-on research experience, the very best in residential living and unique opportunities to contribute to communities at home and abroad.
At the Gerald Schwartz School of Business students will not just attend lectures, study, and take tests. Here students take part in numerous hands-on, experiential learning opportunities. For example, students may work as consultants for local businesses helping them address real issues that are impacting their competitiveness and performance. Honours students may work with professors as research assistants or undertake their own research project.
A Lively Academic Environment
Students have the opportunity to live and learn together in a lively academic environment. Exciting opportunities exist for Business students to become engaged in academic and university life and with their local communities.
Numerous societies exist at StFX that allow students to become actively involved in academic and university life, work on projects that impact many, and further develop and apply their leadership skills. Business focused societies include the Schwartz Women in Business Society, Schwartz Business Society, Schwartz Investment Society, Enactus StFX, and JDC Central.
The Schwartz Women in Business Society hosts various skill building and networking events throughout the year, such as corporate tours, panels, and workshops. The society also proudly organizes the largest undergraduate women in business conference in Atlantic Canada.
