Biography:
Neil Maltby is Associate Professor of International Business and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management.  His teaching and research interests focus on small business, growth and internationalization. He teaches Small Business Management, Entrepreneurial Finance, and International Business, and has offered courses in International Business at South-Central University for Nationalities, Wuhan, China and Changzhou University, Changzhou, China.

Neil led three international exchange programs for students to China and Cuba, and served as the Schwartz International Exchange Faculty Advisor for 15 years. A proponent of engaging pedagogy, Neil led the implementation of business simulations, three international academic mobility consortia, classroom response systems, an online stock market simulation, and is the co-founder of the Annual Global Issues Forum. His research focus involves craft brewers, growth & internationalization, and corporate governance. 

Neil is the author of “Corporate Governance, the Craft Brew Alliance Inc and A-B” in the 2020 book “New Developments in the Beer Industry: The Role of Institutions and Governance” editors Erik Madsen, Jens Gammelgaard and Bersant Hobdari, Oxford University Press. He also co-authored the 2020 case study “Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company: Crafting International Opportunities”. This was published by Ivey Business School Publishing with assistance from Dwayne Mortimer, Duncan Pernal, Travis Radtke and Alexander Weaver
. Since 2000 he has supervised ten Honours theses. In addition to his teaching & research interests, Neil organizes innovation pitch events and works with students in the BBA and from across campus who are interested in launching a business. He is a member of the Brewers Association and the Beeroromics Society.
