Teaching statement:
Despite not striving academically in the past, that experience currently serves as an impetus to inspire my students to excel and be the best. I was a plumber-entrepreneur and educator for over 20 years. I also served as an instructor to assist marginalized young adults in learning a trade and developing themselves economically and socially. I worked as a high school teacher for four years and an adjunct professor for seven years in Trinidad and Tobago before migrating to Canada to work at McMaster as a postdoctoral fellow and then at StFX.
