Clare Fawcett Graduating Anthropology Student Prize

The Anthropology Department selects a graduating anthropology student to receive the Clare Fawcett Award. Dr. Fawcett, a department founder and a ground-breaking leader, dedicated more than 25 years to transformative pedagogical innovation, social justice advocacy, and research excellence at StFX. We honour her significant contributions through our outstanding graduating student award. Recipients receive a citation on their transcript, a modest stipend, and their names are added to the Clare’s commemorate bench in the J Bruce Brown Garden.

StFX is located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded ancestral territory of the Mi'kmaw people. The Mi'kmaw name for Antigonish is Nalikitquniejk, meaning ‘place where branches are torn off.’
