Sodexo Canada Scholarship
Open to 3rd and 4th years who are residents of either Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island. Value of $5,000 non-renewable.
Applicants must show professional and academic promise and a commitment and interest in working in the food service industry in either culinary, supervisory, hospitality, managerial or dietetic programs. Applicants must submit a letter (2-page maximum) stating their commitment and interest in the food service sector, along with a resume or CV. Selection criteria will be based on the following: application requirements, academic standing, potential contributions, and commitment to the food service industry in culinary, supervisory, hospitality, managerial or dietetic programs.
Please note: third-year HNU student winners are eligible to reapply in their fourth year of the HNU program.

Kevin Fraser Memorial Bursary
Five $1000 bursaries will be awarded annually to any first or second-year student enrolled full-time in the Human Nutrition program from Nova Scotia. Based upon financial need.

About the Award
Established in memory of Kevin Fraser by Sodexo Canada. Kevin was General Manager with Sodexo at StFX for many years and passed away suddenly in 2018. He loved his time at StFX and contributed behind the scenes to many students’ success at StFX.
Marian Naczk Memorial Award
This award is conferred annually to a Human Nutrition student in their final year of study, who demonstrates academic excellence combined with compassion and support of their fellow students in the same spirit in which Dr. Naczk is remembered.

About the Award
Dr. Marian Naczk [1946-2013] was a Professor in the Department of Human at St. Francis Xavier University from 1989-2013 and Chair of the Department for a decade. Dr. Naczk was well known and respected for his research productivity, authoring over 100 scientific articles in the field of food science. Students and colleagues knew him best as a caring teacher and mentor who would do anything he could to support students in their education and career paths.
Sir James Dunn Scholarship
Interested students may submit a 1–2-page cover letter outlining their experience working with seniors as part of their IDI application. Two scholarships are awarded each year. Each scholarship provides $825 towards the student’s practicum tuition for each of the three internship practicums (a total of $2475 per intern) of the IDI program.
About the Award
The Sir James Dunn Foundation of St. Andrews, NB generously provides scholarships each year to interns in the StFX Integrated Dietetic Internship (IDI) program. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate the potential for leadership with a keen interest in dietetics as it relates to healthy aging and the nutritional care of the elderly.
CAFP Award of Excellence
Applicant must have completed the third year (or equivalent) in the Human Nutrition degree program or be proceeding to a dietetic internship or food/nutrition-related post-baccalaureate program. One bursary worth $1,000 will be awarded to a Human Nutrition student who demonstrates the CAFP values of personal growth, industry commitment and community contribution. Candidates must submit a resume that includes community involvement experience and a two-page description of their career goals that includes a brief statement of financial need. The evaluation of the applications will include career objectives that are consistent with the values and goals of the award, relevant experience, financial need, community involvement, extracurricular engagement, and academic achievement.
About The Award
The Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals (CAFP), bursaries have been granted to students at Canadian Universities that had a student branch that supported the Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals. Driven by industry engagement and contribution either through their work or through volunteerism, it is essential that the candidate be involved within their program as well as being a great citizen of the University.
