As we are near the end of the term and are preparing to move out, we’d like to remind everyone of the importance of properly disposing of needles and other Sharps to help keep our community safe.
Sharps are items that can easily puncture the skin, and they must be handled and disposed of in a manner that prevents you and others from being injured. Besides needles, some other examples of Sharps are razor blades or broken glass.
Needles and other Sharps should never be placed in regular trash bins or blue recycling bags. Improper disposal poses a serious safety risk to our facilities staff and waste disposal teams.
If you need to dispose of needles or other Sharps:
- Use a designated Sharps container or a sturdy, puncture-proof container with a secure lid.
- Do not place loose needles or other sharps in any bags or bins.
- If you need assistance or have questions about how or where to dispose of them safely, please contact Safety & Security at 902 867 4444 or by email at @email.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.
Effective April 21, 2025 mail delivery to the University offices will be adjusted to Mondays and Thursdays until August 18, 2025. This change in schedule is part of cost-cutting measures and reflective of the reduced amount of mail received during the spring and summer months.
The Post Office will maintain its regular operating hours from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This schedule will remain unchanged to accommodate any postal services required by the University during this period.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at @email.
