Year of StFX graduation and name of degree: BBA with Advanced Major in Entrepreneurship 2018

Could you describe in a line or two, the impact/influence StFX and the Gerald Schwartz School of Business have had on you?

I can’t imagine having gone to any other school, it shaped who I am and gave me the work ethic, communication skills, and confidence I have since carried into the jobs I have had post grad.

Why would you encourage other students to consider a Schwartz School education?

The incredible and dedicated professors who are there to help you 24/7, my experience would not have been the same if I didn’t have the teaching staff that I did guiding me and encouraging me along the way. Also, the connections and friendships you make with your classmates. With the small class sizes and team-oriented style of learning, you have the opportunity to build lifelong friendships and work alongside people from all over to bring your ideas together.

Any notable accomplishments you’d like to mention?

I was inducted into the President’s Circle of Young Alumni at StFX.

Favorite class or favorite academic experience?

I had so many favourite classes, it’s hard to choose just one. My favourite academic experience would definitely have to be joining the Schwartz Women in Business Society as the VP of Alumni Relations and partaking in and organizing all the events that brought business students together.

Any advice you’d give current students?

Don’t feel like you need to have it all figured out before or even while you’re there. I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do when I applied to StFX Schwartz School, but I made connections and learned along the way, and it was the best decision I’ve made so far. Get out of your comfort zone, join that club or society you’ve been thinking about, be a part of it all! And when you graduate get out of your comfort zone even more and don’t be afraid to try something totally new. The things you learn here extend far beyond the classroom.
