Biography:

Dr. Melanie McCaig is a dedicated Management Information Systems Assistant Professor at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada. She earned her PhD in Computational Sciences from the University of Guelph, where her doctoral research delved into the transformative topic of "Digitizing Agriculture: Adoption of IoT by Ontario Farmers and Partners in Farming." Melanie also completed her Master of Arts (MA) degree in Management Research and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree, specializing in Leadership and Organizational Management, at the University of Guelph.

Melanie's interdisciplinary research is centered around exploring the discourse surrounding Internet of Things technology in agriculture, effectively bridging the realms of management theory and computer science. As a tenure-track professor in the Department of Marketing and Enterprise Systems at The Gerald Schwartz School of Business, she contributes to the university's mission of fostering interdisciplinary scholars. Melanie's commitment to creating new knowledge and solving practical problems through her unique blend of expertise makes her a valued member of the academic community.
